Dance and dine for Katy

The fund-raising efforts continue to aid the family of four-year-old Katy Wymant, the Orangeville girl undergoing treatment for cancer in Glasgow, Scotland.

Her parents, Laurence and Margot Wymant of Morgandale Crescent, along with brothers Matthew and Alexander, must remain in Scotland to be at her side and both the Wymant parents have had to leave their jobs.

Meanwhile, the community is continuing to answer the call to help the family cope.

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Boston Pizza in Orangeville will be donating 15 per cent of its day's sales to the Wymants.

A dance at the Orangeville Legion is also being planned for Saturday, Oct. 18.

It will start at 8 p.m. and will have a silent auction with all proceeds going to the Wymants.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wymant's employer, York Fire & Casualty, has had a great response to his drive for donations.

Area companies making donations include: Fix Auto, Nathan Hennick, CARSTAR, Dufferin Mutual, Northwood & Associates Investigation Services and Enterprise Rent a Car.

Donations are even coming from far and wide, including one from Servicemaster in Lanark County in eastern Ontario.

Those wishing to make a donation can send a cheque payable to Katy Wymant to P.O. Box 12, Orangeville, Ont. L9W 2Z5.
