Only Christians in heaven
Rev. Bahman Kalantari is a liberal theologian through and through when he claims that Jesus' kingdom is all inclusive and even agnostics belong to it!
Scriptures says however, in Acts 4:12 "there is no other name given under heaven whereby men must be saved." Only those who believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, who repent and ae baptized will enter heaven and escape condemnation and hell.
Rev. Kalantari mentions Mark 16: 9-20 and he could have mentioned (but didn't) John 7"58-8:1-11 as not authentic . . . not part of the Bible. These passages were not in the Codex Vaticanus and in the Codex Sinaticus. The first was discovered in the Vatican library covered in dust, the second one was found in a monastery on Mt. Sinai.
These two codexes were used by Wescot and Hort (two liberal scholars) to advance their critical text as the basis for translations. They were successful . In the 19th century these two passages were put in the footnotes of modern translations (IE RSV). Christians, however, got upset and this became unprofitable so it was put back in.
Even now I have heard ministers of the Word expressing their belief that these two passages are not authentic.
By doing so they undermine the Scriptures and are not able to declare "It is written."
Modern Bible societies will not go back to the received text. They now use the so-called "eclectic method."
That is they now choose codices which subjectively they think are the most accurate.
The "Received Text" included the original Greek text in which the new testament was written and the was preserved by the Byzantine Church.
During the Reformation Constantinople (now Istanbul) fell to the Moslems, and many Greek scholars fled to the west and brought with them the preserved received text.
The King James Bible translation was written based on this text.
This became known as the "Protestant Bible" in contrast to the Latin Vulgate of the Roman Catholic Church which was in use with all its flaws for over 100 years.
The Trinitarian Bible Society was founded in 1831 in response to the critical text of Wescot and Hort and promotes scriptures based on the received text (Textus Receptus).
In my estimation as a Protestant Christian, it needs and deserves our support for the production and the spreading of uncorrupted versions of the word of God.
