Local LDS church to hold information session

The Orangeville congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints will be hosting a community information session entitled, "Are Mormons Christians?"

The event will be held this Sunday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. in the LDS church building at 200 Alder Street, across from the Alder Street Recreation Centre.

In a news release, the church said the purpose of the event is to answer important questions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and its place in the world of Christendom. Visitors are invited to listen to a presentation and then to participate in an open question and answer session. Light refreshments will follow.

The Orangeville church opened its doors in September, 2002, and has become increasingly involved in the community through church and charitable endeavours. But recent events in the news and general misconceptions about the church have motivated the local church to hold this special information session.

All are welcome, and there is no cost to attend the event.
