It did not turn into the hockey battle many had expected but for the Shelburne Muskies, it was still a win as the Fish doubled up over Palmerston 8- 4 this past Saturday night. More ... ORANGEVILLE TWISTERS continue to leave their mark in competitions across the region. On the weekend of November 14 to 16th, Jessica Sefton, Alicia Oakley, Carley Lagerquist, Alexia Emslie and Amber Rae participated at the Team Ontario Tour Selection meet in Mississauga. While all five girls showed well in this event, Sefton's fifth place finish earned her a spot on the eight member Level 7 team that will be travelling to Orlando Florida this spring. Amber Rae, who was on the Level 7 tour team last season, stepped up to Level 8 at this event, narrowly missing a spot on the squad, finishing in 8th and will be an alternate for the Florida competition. Orangeville Crushers have passed the midway point of their 2008-09 season, finding themselves with their best record to date since joining the the Ontario Provincial Junior A Tier II ranks. Currently they hold down fourth place in the highly competitive Phillips division with a record of 18 wins against only eight losses. More ...
