Local Greens elect board
Coming off a campaign that resulted in popular support reaching 17 per cent in the last federal election, the Dufferin-Caledon Federal Green Party Association recently elected a new board of directors at their annual general meeting, held at the Orangeville Library.
The board has five new members who have all been involved in community, local business and environmental work for many years.
The new board's first task at hand will be nominating its federal Green Party candidate.
The party said in a news release that its "ongoing mission is to ensure that the citizens of Dufferin- Caledon are given the best representation possible in Ottawa."
The new board chair is Ian McGugan. The other board members: Financial agent, Mike Braun; communications chair, Carol Terentiak; membership chair, Michelle Fruendt; fundraising chair, Ard Van Leeuwen; organizing chair, Don McKechnie; youth chair, Piotr Derus; Web master, William Roboly.
