Tykes host on home ice

The Sunvale Homes Shelburne Wolves Tyke LL#3 team participated in a tournament this past weekend in Shelburne.

In their first game against Thornton, it was an evenly matched game, which ended in a 6-5 loss.

Goal scorers were Rylan Webster and Jarrod Beteau and assists were recorded by Ryan Higginson, Kersten-Mary Skilton and Hailey Hoskins.

Three players were given the opportunity throughout the day to take a turn in net.

Sheldon Holmes, Kersten-Mary Skilton and Rylan Webster each served duty between the pipes and appreciated the opportunity to develop their skills.

They also played games against Barrie Colts House League and Shelburne Wolves Tyke LL#2.

Rylan Webster earned the MVP award, as determined by the opposition in the "D" final matchup.

All players are to be commended on their sportsmanship and hard work.

The Little Country Pre- School/Shelburne Rotary Club Mites team took to the ice in Grand Valley and skated hard to a 4-4 tie.

Goal scorers were Nolan Evason, and Ben Nicholson who earned his first hat trick.

On Sunday, they played at home against Durham. Despite quickly being down by 5 goals, they fought hard to a 16-11 loss. Owen Holliday netted 5 goals, while Nolan Evason and Keegan Prins both scored a pair of goals.
