Muskies atone for loss with 6-1 win
      Everyone who has dropped a line into a pond has a story about the one that got away. This weekend, the Shelburne Muskies added one of their own when the Fish let a three goal lead slip away to the Ripley Wolves who scored with 1:45 left on the clock to edge Shelburne 6-5.

Sweet success as Tigers host tourny
      The Orangeville Tigers were the toast of the town as the group successfully hosted the 31st edition of the Sweetheart Hockey Tournament this past weekend. This annual event saw an estimated 1,300 players forming 74 teams take to the ice competing in 14 divisions over the course of the past weekend.

Crushers downed 7-4 by Blues
      The Orangeville Crushers found themselves on the wrong side of the score card this past weekend, dropping a 7-4 decision on the road Friday night to the Collingwood Blues. Collingwood set the pace early with a goal from Eric Cox exactly seven minutes into the game before Dan Minor and Matt Chiarantano would set up Norm Ezekiel, evening the score at 1-1 five minutes later.

Allto Athletics wrap up fall indoor session
      The Allto Construction Athletics represented Orangeville very strongly in the Fall Session of the Central-West Indoor Soccer League (played out of the Brampton Agricultural Centre). The squad finished the 12 week session with an impressive 5-4-3 record, earning them third place in the table of six teams.

Wolves take win at the wire
      Shelburne Wolves Hockey Little Country Preschool/Shelburne Rotary Club Mites played two games over the weekend. On Saturday, they traveled to Dundalk winning a barn burner in the dying seconds when Keegan Prins scored to give Shelburne the victory by a score of 7-6.

Northmen lacrosse
      Orangeville District Minor Lacrosse Association is gearing up for the 2009 season. Starting this weekend, four dates have been set for registration in the Dufferin Room at the Tony Rose Memorial Sports Complex. Those dates are Saturday, January 24 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m., Tuesday February 10th and Monday February 16th from 7 to 9 p.m.
