First place finish for Rae, Sefton

It was another great weekend for athletes from Orangeville's Twisters Gymnastics and Trampoline club. 16 club members made the trip to Kingston this past weekend where they competed in the second of three Women's Provincial qualifiers.

Leading the way again was Amber Rae who put together a first place finish in vault and floor followed by a second on beam and fifth on bars to earn first place overall in the level 8 age 14+ category as well as earning a special award for most dynamic vault.

Carley Lagerquist came close to making it a onetwo sweep for Twisters in the group but had to settle for a third place finish after being edged out of second.

In Level 7 age 14+, Jessica Sefton proved to be the best of the best, taking home a first place finish for her efforts. Scoring first on bars and floor, Sefton also recorded third's in both vault and beam for the win followed by Alicia Oakley and Alexia Emslie finishing seventh and 13th overall respectively.

In the Womens age 10/14 division, both Brittany Sefton and Natasha Naismith each came home with second place finishes.

Competing in level 5, Naismith put together sixth, fourth, second and fifth place rankings on vault, bars, beam and floor in that order for her second overall ranking followed by fellow Twisters Rachael Piercey in sixth. Alexis Deakin and Hayleigh Henderson tied for seventh while Ashley Ouellette rounded out the field in ninth.

Brittany Sefton used her second in vault, fifth on bars, eighth for beam and fourth on the floor to garner her second overall in level 6 competition, just ahead of Sami Thomson in fourth.

The group next heads north for the third and final qualifier being held this weekend in Bracebridge.
