Orangeville Trustee (Upper Grand District School Board) Monthly Column Edition
      At the February 24th meeting of the Upper Grand District School Board, the trustees approved the establishment of a JK-6 French Immersion Program, in September 2009, at Princess Elizabeth P.S. This is an issue that I have dealt with since 2001 when I became trustee for the Town of Orangeville.

      On Monday, Mar. 2 the Fireside Euchre Club had 19 players. Jean Bessey had high score with 92 points, Fran Elgie and Ivadelle Bruce tied for 2nd with 90, Carole Dodds was 3rd with 84 and Anne Young was low. Dave Barbour was high gent with 102, I was 2nd with 83, Ross Bessey was 3rd with 82 and Francine de Gier was low.

      100 YEARS AGO Thursday, March 4, 1909 • Says Publisher R. L. Mortimer, former principal of Shelburne public school, in his column in the Shelburne Free Press: The trouble in the Orangeville public school is creating considerable interest in the county town. A well-known resident of the town claims that the trustees are to blame for the whole trouble.
