THROUGH THE SALE OF LOTTERY CALENDARS, the Amaranth Lions Club raised over $16,000 for selected charities. The organization of Lion Maxine Brownell and the salesmanship of Lion Jim Melen made this project a success, and on March 2 Choices Youth Shelter, Diabetes Hope Foundation, Headwaters Health Care Foundation's Dialysis unit and Lions Sightfirst 11 were each presented with a cheque for $4,150. Draws will continue until Dec. 31, with winners being posted every two weeks at www.amaranthlionsclub.com.
