The $14-million project included the installation of chemical containment units, analyzers and alarms, modifications to the standpipe and vents, as well as the drilling of new wells.

"The Government of Canada is proud to have supported this project, which has a positive impact on the quality of life of Orangeville residents," said Dufferin- Caledon MP David Tilson.
"These upgrades ensure that local drinking water meets today's safety standards and will benefit the community for years to come."
"Having safe, clean water is a priority for all of Ontario's communities," said Mr. Rinaldi. "These water supply upgrades will help ensure reliable water sources for Orangeville residents and visitors."
"We thank the federal and provincial governments for their support in helping us renew our infrastructure," said Mayor Adams. "Nearly 8,000 local residents benefit from these improvements to our water supply."
The Town also recognized the efforts of the engineers and contractors who brought this work to fruition: Orangevillebased R. J. Burnside and Associates, Enviro-Con Engineering and Construction, Gibson Contracting, H2 Ontario Inc., Kenwood Trenching and Excavating, Marcrest Construction, and Varcon Construction.
