It was a festive mood throughout the county over the weekend with the Shelburne Heritage Street Festival and Mono in Motion.

Luck shone with sunshine on the Shelburne Heritage Street Festival once again this year for a beautiful day and bountiful crowds.

An outstanding number of vintage cars lined both Main and Owen Sound Streets as far as the eye could see.

First Street was also closed off this year with an increase in the number of vendors making the Festival bigger and better than ever.

Hundreds gathered to enjoy the all-day music, ice-cream contests, entertainers, art, vendors, antiques, heritage wagon rides, and food booths.

Merchants had their store fronts beautifully decked out for the window contest with a theme of "June Brides".

Kids participated in free fun, baking and coffee was on hand for Mom and Dad and a great time was had by all.

On Sunday at Monora Park, Mono in Motion featured such activities as lawn bowling, canoeing, a children's play area, tennis practice, an obstacle course, basketball, large group games, and a family scavenger hunt.

"People can be active and have a ton of fun with games they can play in their own back yards at little or no cost," says Mono's Recreation Director Kim Perryman. "The goal of Mono in SPORTS Mo ti on is to re-introduce some of these activities and get us all thinking about being more active in our daily lives."

Mono in Motion has been organized by the Mono Recreation Advisory Board and the event is in keeping with Mono's commitment to promoting active and healthy lifestyles and the provincial and federal governments' direction for municipalities to create physical activity plans to combat health issues related to obesity and diabetes.
