Museum scene of 'Summer in the Silo' art show, sale
The Dufferin County Museum and Archives will host a show and sale of original art works by local members of the Orangeville Art Group.
The "Summer in the Silo" art show and sale promises to have works of all styles of art for your viewing pleasure.
"In the spring of 1955, nine women met in the basement of Westminster United Church and christened themselves the Orangeville Art Club. The Orangeville Art Group (OAG) is a not-forprofit organization with a mandate to encourage and promote an appreciation of art; to provide members with opportunities to display their work; to cooperate with other organizations in presenting viewpoints of the art community; to encourage and arrange instruction in art, and to provide for contact among members.

Among the many pieces on display during "Summer in the Silo", will be the 2008 People's Choice Award winner entitled "Final Chapter", by Anna Maria Dickenson. Also, exhibited will be "Summertime 2" by Randi Lockhart. The original "Summertime" piece that Randi created won Best in Show at the OAG's 2009 Art Extravaganza.

"Summer in the Silo" opens this Sunday, June 28, with a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. The show will remain on display until Sunday, August 23, in the Silo Gallery of the Museum.
