Orangeville's Summer Camp program starts up this week and ends August 28. Students have been busy planning activities for the weekly day camps which are geared towards children 5-13 years of age, with a leadership development program for ages 11-13. Given that Orangeville has been chosen as a Vancouver Olympic Torch Relay Community Celebration site and that the Olympics take place this coming winter, this year's summer camps will have an Olympic theme, with an opening and closing ceremony each week for each camp program. Showing off their own "torch" are summer camp counsellors (bottom row) Mandy Bradberry, Holley Shaw, Adam Arcuri, Steve Boyd, Sarah Laughton, Erin Smith and Katie Papple, (middle row) Sydney Duncan, Sarah Luce, Christine Szarmes, Erin Myers, Brittany Haddon, and Arielle Shaw, (top row) Kayla Sutton, Children's Recreation Progammer Tracy Kelly, and Cheryl McJannet. Camp staff has been planning lots of fun-filled games, activities, crafts and events. Further information is available on the Town's website at www.orangeville.ca or by emailing summercamp@orangeville.ca. Registration is in person at the Alder Street Recreation Centre.
