Four Trillium grants announced
Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones has announced four Trillium Foundation grants to community groups in the riding.
"Four community groups will be able to enhance their programs with their new Ontario Trillium Foundation grants," she said.
"I am pleased that non-profit organizations in our community have access to lottery and gaming revenues to enhance recreation, education and social services for our residents."
The grants include $14,700 to the Albion-Bolton Historical Society to erect signage and a masonry bench in a local park to help increase awareness and appreciation of Bolton's history; $75,000 to the Orangeville and Dufferin Wind Corporation to erect a meteorological tower to provide a scientific measure of the wind energy in the immediate area; $40,600 to Alton-based Headwaters Community in Action to hire staff that will support strategic partnerships, develop community leadership; promote economic resilience and development of a network of regional recreational trails in Caledon, and $85,000 to Palgrave Rotary Club to construct a gazebo that will become the focus of a community meeting area in Palgrave.
"I am delighted these four projects were chosen," Ms. Jones said. "This gives each of these organizations the opportunity to enhance our community."
For over 25 years, the Ontario Trillium Foundation has been providing grants to community organizations across the province. The Foundation's funding supports non-profit organizations focusing on arts and culture, sports and recreation, the environment, and human and social services.
