Last Friday, July 31, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community held a seminar at Shelburne's Centre Dufferin Recreation Centre at which Mukhtar Cheema gave a presentation that was followed by a question and answer session.

Mr. Cheema cited Biblical passages as support for the claim of Mirza Ghulam Ahmed, founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, to be the Second Advent of Jesus Christ.

According to Mr. Cheema, all religions are waiting for the later day's reformer to unite them.

Answering one question, as to why Islam is to be the final Religion, he explained the Quran, the Muslim holy book, is a summary of all previous Holy books, and contains knowledge about Abraham, Moses, Mary and Jesus. A part of Muslim beliefs is that all are prophets of God, including Moses and Jesus. He said Islam is most misunderstood and is a very peaceful religion.
