House9 charity game set

On Saturday August 29th, Detroit Redwings veteran and Honeywood native, Aaron Downy will be bringing a few of his NHL compatriots to the Centre Dufferin Recreation Centre in Shelburne to participate in the second annual House9 Charity Hockey Game.

Playing against the home town favorites, the Shelburne Muskies, Downey will be joined on the ice by a number of NHL players including Kyle Quicey (Colorado), Darren Helm, Darren McCarty, Justin Abdelkader, Jamie Tardiff (Detroit), David Clarkson (New Jersey) and Marty Turco (Dallas) with other possible players being announced as game day draws closer.

Festivities kick off on the Shelburne Fairgrounds starting at 4 p.m. with music and a barbeque which will run through until 1 a.m. Action on the ice is starts with the official opening face-off at 6 p.m.

House9 Hockey Foundation is a non-forprofit organization that helps provide local children participate in minor hockey by providing assistance with fees and in providing the necessary equipment to allow them to play.
