Thanks offered for article
I would like to comment, as well as thank, the Rev. Gord Horsley for his article entitled "The Fiddleville Church Service," which was dedicated to the memory of my late husband, the Rev. Bruce Besley. It felt good to go down memory lane.
There are a few names I would like to add that have helped I the success of the church services over the years and should be remembered. The late Orval Rintoul was a faithful attender who had a wonderful lilt to his piano playing.
I especially want to Greg Holmes. I believe he has helped at every service and has willingly added so much. He keeps in the background but is always there to help the music going with his drums, or fiddle or guitar. Thank you Greg.
As to the cleaning up of the Saturday night debris, there were always faithful volunteers, some from the Rotary Club, some church members, some visitors from out of town, but early Sunday morning they were at the arena sweeping cheerfully and rearranging chairs and would always be finished just in time as the worshippers started to fill up the chairs.
Well done, Rev. Gord Horsley.
I would also like to mention that this year's Sunday Service "Caught the Spirit" of fellowship which has made these services so successful. Thank you to the Shelburne Ministerial for keeping the tradition alive.
