The game, which the Northmen were leading 4- 3 at the time, resumed on Monday night in Orangeville.

Brampton shut down the normally high-octane Northmen attack to win 6- 5 and take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

The Excelsiors could wrap it up tonight, when they engage Orangeville in the friendly confines of Brampton's Powerade Centre.

Ryan McCelland scored twice for Brampton. Michael Burke had a goal and three assists. Dane Stevens and Pat Saunders each had a goal and one assist. Cameron Flint also scored.

Andrew Potter collected three assists. Scott Tinning added a pair of helpers.

It would be unfair to say the Orangeville offence was entirely impotent.

In the 6-5 loss, they actually outshot Brampton 54-40, but Exelsior netminder Steve Fryer was up to the take and managed to keep the Northmen in check.
