Photo/MIKE MALONEY ONTARIO CHAMPIONS. For the second year in a row, the Rayburn Construction Northmen have again risen to the top as Ontario Junior A lacrosse champions. While early favourites to repeat in 2009, the Northmen had to fight back from a 3-0 series deficit, winning four straight to defeat the Brampton Excelsiors before a packed house at the Tony Rose on Monday night. Lenore Wirtz is continuing to recover at home, her family at her side, after being savagely attacked five weeks ago by a complete stranger brandishing a knife. Ms. Wirtz was attacked at her place of employment, Creek Side Clothing Company, on July 11. Her assailant repeatedly stabbed her, puncturing her lungs and liver and nearly severing her left hand. Photo/DAN PELTON HAPPY TRAILS: The vision of a system of trails that spreads throughout Orangeville has come closer to reality, thanks to a $110,000 grant from the federal and provincial governments. The funding, which comes from the federal Recreational Infrastructure Canada program and Recreation Ontario.
