Local support fantastic for Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day

2009-08-20 / Regional News

There has been considerable grumbling about the sub-par summer we've been having this year. Mainly, the complaint is that it's been too rainy and cold.Yet, folks were welcoming the forecast of a blizzard last week when Dairy Queen on Riddell Road joined others across North America for Miracle Treat Day, where the proceeds of every Blizzard treat was donated to the Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals. Orangevillians showed up in droves to support the network and, perhaps, to watch the volunteers and local dignitaries who showed up and tried to emulate the work done by the pros behind the counter.
