The weather was perfect last Thursday as the Peel -Dufferin Plowmen's Association hosted their 84th annual plowing match near Bolton.

East Luther Grand Valley Mayor John Oosterhof won bragging rights when he was victorious in the Mayor's Challenge, beating out host Mayor Marolyn Morrison of Caledon.

East Garafraxa Mayor Allen Taylor also took part in the Mayor's Challenge.

Meghan Van Kampen, of Laurel in Amaranth Township, is the new Peel - Dufferin Queen of the Furrow.

She was crowned at last Thursday's plowing match by outgoing Queen Ashley Duern of Mono. The runner up was Katie Early from Caledon.
