Dinner raises $311,000 for Headwaters
Members of the 12th Annual Dinner and Auction committee presented a cheque for $311,000 to Headwaters Health Care Foundation Tuesday representing the proceeds of Ole! A Night in Spain, held last May.
All monies raised will be directed towards the purchase of new equipment for Headwaters Health Care Centre. As the government does not generally fund Headwaters' equipment needs, well over $1 million must be raised each year from the Dufferin- Caledon community.
"On behalf of the committee, I'd like to extend a sincere thanks to everyone involved, from the sponsors to the guests to the volunteers, all of whom contributed to making Ole! a night to remember," said committee chair Kathy Armstrong. "Spirited bidding on our live and silent auction items and donations both financial and in-kind helped make the evening such a tremendous success."
The dinner and auction is the largest annual fundraising event for Headwaters, and since its inception has raised over $1.6 million to purchase state-of-the art medical equipment for Headwaters Health Care Centre.
Headwaters has a simple but powerful vision: patient-centred, compassionate care in the face of change. The health centre is dedicated to improving the quality of life for our community by offering access locally to health care services in a caring, welcoming and professional way.
Next year's event will be Saturday, May 1. For information on sponsorship or purchasing tickets, contact Headwaters Health Care Foundation at 519- 941-2702, ext. 2303.
