RIDE program leads to seizure of pot plants

Shortly after midnight Tuesday, officers from the OPP Dufferin detachment were conducting a RIDE program on the Blind Line south of County Road 16 when a vehicle approached them, stopped and turned to go north.

The occupants were seen throwing what appeared to be freshly picked marijuana plants out of the window. The vehicle stopped as the officers followed it and more suspect plants were found in the back seat. The officer recovered all of the plants thrown out as well as those still in the car. The 42 plants seized would have had a street value of $42,000.

Charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking were Sandra Boyle, 43, her son John, 22, and Kyle Eeg, 23, all of Orangeville.
