Final statistics on September enrolment show that total enrolment at the Orangeville Campus of Georgian College has almost tripled this September over September 2008, with 212 students now enrolled in 15 courses, compared with 68 last year.

This increase is part of dramatic growth collegewide over the last five years in diploma, degree and certificate programs at Georgian's seven campuses.

Overall first-year enrolment at all Georgian campuses has increased by14.89 per cent over last year, and by 38.58 per cent over five years ago. In September of 2005, 3,826 first-year students were admitted

This September, 5,302 students were admitted to Georgian's seven campuses.

Georgian President and CEO Brian Tamblyn says part of the reason for the continuing increase is Georgian's ongoing effort to provide programs that specifically meet the needs of employers.

"Georgian's success today is a testament to the fact that we are responding to the demands of the communities we serve. Our new and existing programs are the result of our ongoing work with employers to meet their need for a highly skilled workforce," he said.

These increases bring Georgian's full-time enrolment in all years to 10,000 students across Georgian seven campuses.
