Final week for Chef Meets Farmer at market

2009-10-15 / Local News

This Saturday, Chef Roger from One99 Restaurant will return for his final Chef meets Farmer event at Market on Broadway, the Orangeville farmers' market.

This interactive chef demonstration will commence at 10:30 a.m. featuring wild boar, and local farmer vendor Big Tusks will be on hand to educate visitors on raising wild boar and benefits of this unique meat.

In addition to the delicious seasonal produce, meats and freshly baked breads and treats sold at the market, mixed market vendors offer unique crafts and goods.

As the market season comes to an end, the downtown prepares itself for a celebration of the harvest and appreciation for our local farmers, growers and producers.

Local boy scouts will be out again this week selling locally grown apples, and omnichord musician Paul Donahue will be on site to entertain to raise money for local charities.

Market friends are welcome to enter this week's free draw or to pick up a free pedometer at the information booth and count steps until October 24 for a chance to win a family pass for four at Orangeville's two recreation centres.

Market on Broadway farmers' market has been extended until October 24 this year in conjunction with Orangeville's Harvest Celebration and that means there are only two more Saturday morning market days left this season.
