TIM HORTONS GIVES BACK - The recent Smile Cookie campaign raised $8,000 for Headwaters H.C.F. Above, Paul Preuss, Cara Preuss, and Krista Goudreault of the Orangeville Tim Hortons stores present Stephen Doney, Headwaters Health Care Foundation and Joan Burdette, Executive Director Headwaters Health Care Foundation a ceremonial cheque. Nearly everyone is familiar with the slogan "Always have time for Tim Hortons"
Judging by the response to the chain's Smile Cookie campaign, it appears Tim Hortons and its Orangeville patrons also had time to contribute to Headwaters Health Care foundation
The Smile Cookie campaign was a sweet success with $8,000 being raised for the Headwaters Health Care Centre. Over 7,900 special chocolate chunk cookies with a happy face were sold between September 21 and Sept. 27 at the local Orangeville Tim Hortons locations.
On Wednesday, a special cheque was presented to Headwaters Health Care Foundation at the Tim Hortons on East Broadway.
"I would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who helped to make this year's campaign such an overwhelming success," said Tim Hortons store owner Paul Preuss.
"Raising awareness for the Headwaters Health Care Foundation through the Smile Cookie campaign opens the door to more community involvement and ensures that the funds raised in our community stays in our community. I think that's something we can all smile about!"
Each "Smile Cookie" sold for $1 (tax excluded) with all proceeds donated to the Headwaters Health Care Foundation, which raises funds for Headwaters Health Care Centre.
The Foundation raises funds for medical equipment, infrastructure and continuing education through encouraging and celebrating philanthropy in our community; including individuals, businesses, service clubs and community groups.
The Smile Cookie program began in Hamilton in 1996 to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children's Hospital. Since then, it has expanded across Canada, helping a variety of children's charities, hospitals and community programs.
