ATV operator trapped overnight

2009-11-12 / Local News

Last Saturday afternoon, the operator of an ATV became trapped under the vehicle after it rolled down an embankment near the Pine River Fishing Area in Mulmur township.

Dufferin OPP officers were called to the scene at about 7:25 a.m. Sunday after a resident heard the man's calls for help.

Police said the 46-yearold Mississauga man was found approximately 200 meters north of fishing area's parking area.

Dufferin Ambulance paramedics who examined the man decided to call the Air Ambulance and he was airlifted from the scene and transported to Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto where it was determined that his injuries, while serious, were not life-threatening.

OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have attended to assist with the investigation.

The operator was confirmed to be alone at the time of the rollover.
