Santa's coming later than usual for parades
Orangeville Kinsmen and Santa Claus will be breaking with tradition this year by parading in the evening instead of the afternoon.
Following the lead of Shelburne and some other towns, the Nov. 21 parade will start after sunset, at 5 p.m. instead of at 1 or 2 p.m. as in past years.
One thing will not change: the parade route. As in the past, it will muster on Hansen Boulevard by the Orangeville Mall, proceed south on First Street and then eastward on Broadway.
Kinsmen Gary Lynch says the downtown merchants have been consulted and are in favour of the later hours.
