Northmen B name new GM A new but familiar face will be taking over the front office duties for the Orangeville Northmen Junior B franchise next year. In a press release earlier this week, the Orangeville Minor Lacrosse Association announced that Josh Sanderson will be taking over the duties of general manager for the team, a position that became vacant with the resignation of Mike Falkiner. In making the announcement, Northmen Junior B vice-president Danny DelZotto wanted to thank Falkiner for his past three years with the club, both behind the bench and as general manager as well a welcoming Sanderson to the organization. "With the resignation of GM Mike Falkiner, we immediately began the search for a replacement who would be able to continue in the tradition of fielding a strong and competitive team. Josh had expressed a keen interest in being that person, which made our decision very easy. Josh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization through his years of playing in Orangeville, as well as his professional career in the NLL." For his part, Sanderson plans to hit the ground running and one of his first jobs will be to familiarize himself with the team and talent they currently have. While everyone's goal is to put a winning team on the floor, he also feels the emphasis has to be on development first. "There is a lot of teaching to be done in Junior B and one thing we have to do is make sure we are teaching the right things to these kids so they can get better." he says. "Ultimately, yes, our goal is to win but our emphasis has to be in developing these kids, making them better players and allowing then to advance in time to higher levels." |
