Home invasion suspects arrested
Orangeville police have now made four arrests in connection with a Nov. 17 home invasion robbery.
Having apprehended one male and one female shortly after the incident in Orangeville's west end, officers acting on information obtained during their ongoing investigation, went to a residence in Brampton where the other two suspects were believed to be located. One was arrested without incident. The second suspect fled on foot to a nearby park but was located with the assistance of Peel Regional Police K-9 and tactical units.
Kyle Nathanial Ramsay, 21, and Shane Chase Morasse, 20, of Brampton, were charged with several criminal offences, including breaking and entering, robbery, assault with a weapon, pointing a firearm, uttering threats, possession of property obtained by crime, using a firearm while committing an offence and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The two were being held in custody pending bail hearings.
The arrests followed an investigation that began at about 1 a.m. Nov. 17, when police received a 911 call reporting the home invasion at a Biscayne Crescent residence. A 24- year-old male complainant told police that approximately 15 minutes earlier a female had come to the front door of the residence and when he answered the door three males forced their way into the residence with the female. One male produced what he described as a sawedoff shotgun and butt-ended him in the face as the other males ransacked the home, making off with items that included electronic equipment, alcohol, clothing and a small amount of cash.
Police said the complainant did not require medical attention for his injuries. An immediate search of the area led to the arrest of a female suspect and one male just south of Orangeville and seizure of stolen property and firearm.
