TJ's hosts breast cancer event

TJ's Hangar will be "a pub with no beer" on Friday the 13th when it hosts a family Stars of Pop evening to raise money for the fight against breast cancer and for other charities.

It promises not to be a "lonesome and drear" dry pub night like the ones Stompin' Tom sang about decades ago during the almost-forgotten beer strike - when the wineries and Formosa Brewery reaped a windfall.

This promises to be a night full of sober enjoyment as Brian Pombiere Entertainment provides tributes to Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and Hilary Duff. Don't know them? Here's a good chance to find out about them while enjoying a dinner and supporting charities.

Tickets are now on sale at $15, and there might be some available at the door at $20 but it's almost a safe bet that they'll be selling fast.

The doors to the pub will open at 4 p.m. Nov. 13. The event itself is from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

Then, on Saturday the 14th, it's back to business as usual for TJ's.
