Beyers and Guptill make NHL ranking

2010-01-21 / Sports

Two players on the current roster of the Orangeville Crushers have caught the attention of a number of NHL scouts. Recently acquired Alex Guptill and veteran Steven Beyers found themselves placed 98th and 182nd respectively on the recently released 2010 Mid-Season NHL Central Scouting ranking of North American skaters.

Guptill, a native of Newmarket who joined the Crushers earlier in the season on a trade from Brampton, has scored 12 goals and recorded 12 assists in 14 games since coming to Orangeville.

Orangeville-born Beyers, a veteran with the team, got off to a slow start this season. Injured during the 2009 playoff run against Couchiching, Beyers has counted for nine goals and 12 assists in 14 games since rejoining the club back in late November.
