Minor Northmen prepare
While winter weather may not be conducive to much more than thoughts of summer, the Orangeville District Minor Lacrosse Association is well into preparations for their 2010 season.
Registrations are currently underway for both boys and girls programs.
In addition to the traditional box and field programs, this year the ODMLA will be taking registrations for Bantam / Midget age girls that wish to play box lacrosse within the OLA Girls Box Lacrosse program.
Also in 2010, the organization will be introducing a program called Northmen Girls for young players aged four, five and six. Starting in June, the six week program will run on Wednesday nights from 6- 6:30 p.m and is intended to introduce participants to the basic rules of the game as well as teaching them the basics of the game.
Registration for all the Minor Northmen programs are being held in the Northview Room (upstairs beside the pool viewing area) of the Tony Rose arena. Remaining registration dates include Saturday February 6th, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. as well as Wednesday February 10 and Tuesday February 16th from 6:30 p.m to 9 p.m.
Saturday February 6th also marks the date of the annual lacrosse equipment exchange. Equipment is for both boys as well as girls including everything from arm guards to kidney pads and gloves.
