Sweetheart Tourney set

Orangeville Tigers will be taking over the ice at both the Tony Rose and Alder Streets arenas this weekend as the organization hosts the 32nd edition of the annual Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart Hockey Tournament.

Over 70 teams are registered to compete in this event, which kicks of at 8 a.m. Friday morning and will run through to the championship finals for each division which are scheduled for Sunday.

The official opening ceremonies are slated to take place at 6 p.m. Friday night on the ice of the Alder Red rink. On hand to help organizers and local dignitaries with the opening festivities will be Canadian Womens National hockey team gold medalist Lori Dupuis.

There will also be a demonstration by players in the TimBits hockey program followed by a presentation of last season's championship banners.
