Muskies double up 6-3 over 81’s
      One game doesn't make a series but if the outcome of Saturday night's game in Shelburne is any indication, Palmerston can soon start booking spring vacations after the Muskies took game one of their WOAA Northern Division quarter - final; doubling up over the 81's by a final score of 6-3.

HARKING BACK
     HARKING BACK to the game’s Scottish origins, the Orangeville Curling Club took to the frozen surface of Island Lake this past Saturday, hosting their inaugural Classic Pond Spiel. A total of 16 teams braving the frigid temperatures were piped onto the ice, competing in two draws before returning indoors to the club for the finals later that afternoon. Photo/MIKE MALONEY

CLEAR BLUE SKIES,
     CLEAR BLUE SKIES, a vigorous warm up and the promises of hot chili on their return was more than enough to ward off the biting cold as Mono Nordic hosted their annual Women’s Day at the club this past Saturday. Over 100 participants took part in this popular event which offered a range of activities for those in attendance.

Vets announce new coach for 2010
      The Shelburne Vets Jr “C” Lacrosse Club has announced the hiring of Mike Chesterman as the team’s new head coach for the 2010 season. Chesterman who is a City of Barrie resident as well as a city of Vaughan firefighter, knows all about what it takes to put a competitive team on the floor. He played his minor lacrosse in Brampton as well as in Caledon.

Orangeville Flames,
     ON JANUARY 30, the Orangeville Flames, sponsored by Universal Rental, travelled to Arthur to participate in the Arthur Tyke Tournament. Exceptional hard work and effort was rewarded as the Flames went undefeated in three games.
