NHL Alumni to face Local Law Enforcement All-stars
In an annual event that promises to be the best yet, the NHL Alumni, led by hockey legends Dave Reid, Dan Daoust, Mark Napier, and many more will take it to the Orangeville’s Law Enforcement All-stars tomorrow night (Friday) at 7 p.m. at the Alder Rec Centre.
The exciting and entertaining game will raise money for Special Olympics Ontario. Extra events planned include an exciting skills competition, hilarious on-ice gags and some of the most highly profiled former players in the NHL..
More importantly, proceeds support the Law Enforcement Torch Run in their efforts to provide sports to over 16,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities. So besides the excitement of the event, the show will benefit a very worthy cause.
The Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run (www.ontario.torchrun.or g) is a community-based, province-wide event that sees the “Flame of Hope” being carried right across Ontario by members of the Law Enforcement from communities across the province.
The objective of this and other events is to raise funds for and awareness of the Special Olympics movement in Ontario. The NHL Alumni (www.nhlalumni .net) is a non-profit organization, which serves as a liaison for 28 local alumni groups.
