SIGN OF SPRING. There is no mistaking that spring is just around the corner as Upper Grand School Board outdoor education teacher Lynn Picard and volunteer Wayne White found out checking the sap buckets at Island Lake Conservation Area this week. A perfect combination of warmer days and cool nights has started the sap running slightly earlier than usual, which should make for some busy days ahead for Picard and the CVCA staff as they prepare to welcome over 900 grade one students to the facility starting March 22nd through to the weekend of March 27th - 28th when the Orangeville Optimists host the 2010 edition of their Maple Syrup Festival at Island Lake.
