MacMaster Pontiac Buick welcomes Carmine Preziuso to the dealership
MacMaster Dealer Principal Danny Bracket and new Sales Manager Carmine Preziuso
MacMaster Pontiac Buick has announced the appointment of Carmine Preziuso as the dealership’s sales manager.
The appointment, which comes in Mr. Preziuso’s 23rd year in the car business, follows his addition to the MacMaster sales team in February.
“I have been a member of the Orangeville Highlands Rotary Cub since 1997, and approaching local businesses for donations was an annual event for me,” he told the Orangeville Citizen. “Over the years I have visited MacMaster Pontiac/GMC at least twice a year, calling on the late Peter MacMaster, hounding him for donations for the annual Taste of Autumn fundraiser to support Headwaters Health Care Centre and several other local charities in our community.
“Peter was always very generous in supporting ‘Taste of Autumn’ as well as other community fundraising events. When Danny Brackett bought the dealership he showed the same level of dedication that Peter MacMaster did. As a matter of fact, the first time I approached Danny for a donation for Taste of Autumn, his response was; ‘Absolutely, no problem, what did Peter give you in the past.’ “I was happy to meet him as rubbed my hands together with well intentioned greed and excitement!”
He says his impression immediately was that Danny Brackett shared the same business/community philosophy as Peter MacMaster.
“I was very happy about this as the Chair of the fundraising committee! Little did I know that we would be working together three years later.”
He and wife Cheryl moved to Orangeville in 1994 with their son Joshua. Their daughter Talia was born in 1995 at the old Dufferin Area Hospital, now the Lord Dufferin Centre, where Orangeville Highland Rotary meetings are held on Wednesday mornings. “At times, I wonder if we are meeting in the same room as she was born in on that –30 degree day on December 6th, 1995.”
Their son Joshua is now studying at York University. “He enjoys cars, video games, and is an excellent drummer,” Carmine said. “When he has time he gets together and plays with his band. I have watched him and his friends grow up together and it has been pretty much the same guys coming to the house for the last 10 years. They are all moving on to the next phase in their lives now and happy to say they are all doing quite well.”
Daughter Talia was a student at Primrose Elementary School and now is at Centre Dufferin District High School. She rides competitively in the Pony Hunter classes at Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave and is also involved in the Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers. “I could have said ‘TOYS’ and most people in town would have understood what that meant. She plays guitar and the fiddle as well. My wife Cheryl runs around a lot with Talia these days!”
He says he is very lucky that Cheryl’s job managing the family horse farm has flexibility so she has been able to be committed to their children’s activities and successes, where it would have been impossible with his busy schedule.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed working in a community which is so generous when it comes to fundraising,” Mr. Preziuso said.
