Humber College Staff Stars to benefit the Orangeville Food Bank
After watching the winter Olympics in Vancouver, and being inspired by both Canada’s Men’s and Women’s Gold Medal Hockey Teams, the Humber College Staff Stars and their nemesis, the County of Dufferin Staff Stars, have decided it was time for a rematch to battle for the Humber Challenge Cup.
Again, as a result, the 4th Annual Humber Challenge Cup Hockey Cup will benefit the Orangeville Food Bank and will be held on Friday, April 9th, 2010 at 7:00pm at the Alder Street Recreation Complex located at 275 Alder Street in Orangeville.
Yes with dreams of being drafted by an NHL hockey team long-gone, the County of Dufferin Staff Stars and the Humber College Staff Stars will take to the ice in what is being billed as the ‘must see’ Hockey game in Orangeville,
The veterans of latenight ice rentals are ready again to show the community their skills at being able to skate from one end of the rink to the other without falling down. You’ll see complete passes, and possibly the odd ‘off-side’ too, but more importantly it will be the community that comes out to support this Hockey game and the Orangeville Food Bank.
The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. at the Alder Street Recreation Complex in Orangeville.
Admission to this benefit game is a Toonie for Adults, and a Loonie for Children.
Admission will be waived for each person who donates a full-bag of non-perishable food items to the Orangeville Food Bank.
There will be prizes and a 50/50 draw too! Proceeds of the 50/50 draw will also go directly to the Orangeville Food Bank.
