Tip leads to marijuana grow op
Acting on an anonymous tip, Orangeville police officers discovered a small marijuana grow op in the Baywinds Residential Complex last Thursday, April 1.
Acting on the tip, police went to the former motel at 11:15am Thursday and seized 18 marijuana plants and assorted hydroponic growing equipment. The street value of the seizure is believed to be more than $20,000.
Police said the grow op was located “in a residential room within the Baywind’s complex.”
Orangeville Fire Department also attended with police to address any potential fire safety concerns.
No residents were in the room at the time and police are continuing their investigation.
