Contributed Photo The ODSS Bears Girls hockey team officially concluded their 2009-10 season in style, winning the annual Friendship Tournament at the Alder Street arena on March 31st.

Eight teams competed in this, the second year of the tournament, and they included three teams from Guelph - GCVI, CCVI and Our Lady of Lourdes as well as teams from Barrie, Collingwood and Baden.

The win for Orangeville caps off a season which saw them finish fifth in the regular season standings but drew a blank in the play-off tournament on February 17th, dropping consecutive games to CCVI and JF Ross to be eliminated from further play-off action.

A number of the Bears players however were selected to play in the District 4/10 combined All-Star Tournament held in Guelph on March 29th. ODSS girls Jen Ward, Courtney Sheedy, Cian Dabrowski and Sam Yurechuk found themselves playing for the winning team White.

Special thanks from the players go out to coach Rob Orr, assistant coach Jodi Alcorn and ODSS teacher Mr Anderson who contributed countless hours of their time to make this another successful season.
