Encouragement in times of change
Things are not always consistent in life, but there are two things that I know are: “Change” and our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the same yesterday, today and forever. His word does say, in Lamentations 3:22,23, “The faithful love of the Lord never ends, His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. What a blessing. For me, who fails in my walk with the Lord most frequently, this is good news. Thus change and the Lord Jesus are consistent!
Times are changing, seasons come and go, and our lives are full of change. But, we are creatures of habit; at times we do not like change, we like our ducks in a row, we like to think we have things under control. When change comes either for the good or the bad, it is hard to let go of the past, what we know and understand, things can get very scary, very intimidating, worry and doubt set in, fear grips us.
It is
It is the time of year we sell our homes and move to a new place, new jobs come up, school is ending and summer is coming, some have lost loved ones, some loved ones are moving away, we do not know what to expect.
This is where we need to fall back into the arms of the other consistent thing in life, or should I say person! This is where the Word of God can, and will, be a big help.
As we read and meditate on His Word, allow our spirits to witness with Holy Spirit the truths we read and hear, we can conquer our fear of change and uncert
ainty. Yes, our emotions will be heighte n e d flow, our heartwill be broken; this is where Father God is the closest to us. He is for us not against us!
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
The Lord would also say, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5,6, a scripture I rely on, on a daily basis, which reminds me who is really in control, and that He is working all things out for my good, not to hurt me and be mean.
Change is scary but also is very good! If you hold on to the hand of the Master He will walk you through it, He will be faithful even when we lose faith. To me what is really scary is going through the changes without our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With the world the way it is, with so many uncertainties, things can change very fast, and it can be very unforgiving. Trust in the one who loves you very much, my Lord and yours, Jesus Christ.
Blessings to all,
