Novice Northmen take 2

The Sanderson Sports Novice Northmen recently opened the 2010 Field Lacrosse with a pair of wins at Cherry Beach Park in Toronto.

In the first game against Center Wellington, the Northmen dominated from the start, taking a 6-0 lead into the final quarter.

Centre Wellington would answer back with two in the final quarter but Orangeville added one more on the way to a 7-2 decision.

Devon Dunkerley lead the way with three goals to pace the Northmen attack while Ben Ferguson, Liam McIllwraith,Tanner Buck and Daniel Massey each chipped in singles

Assists went to McIllwraith with two, Brock Giles, Jackson Arthurs and Buck with one a piece.

Orangeville's back end of goalie Elgin Cooke, long poles Kurtis Cotton, Quinten Schneider, Brock Giles and Kyle Whitten were very dominating in holding Center Wellington to just two goals.

After falling behind 2-1 and 3-2 against Burlington in their second game of the day, Orangeville refused to roll over scoring three straight in the final quarter to post a 5-4 win.

Andrew Reynolds picked up a goal and three assists while Jayden Sample, Liam Smith, McIllwraith and Buck chipped in with a goal each.

Goalie Keegan Madden had an outstanding game in shutting down the Burlington shooters.

The Sanderson Sports Novice Northmen travel back to Cherry Beach this weekend for games against Hamilton and Oakville.
