We are into a new term and I have the pleasure of reporting the weekly Legion news for Branch 233 once again.

Our 8th Annual Show & Shine Motorcycle Event is happening this Sunday, June 6th, Noon to 7 pm. Come out and have a glimpse at some of the classiest bikes around

Then, on Friday, June 11th come and dine in our air-conditioned Legion between 5 pm and 7 when we host another Turkey Dinner Fundraiser for $10. a plate. Proceeds to go towards the construction of an outdoor Patio. Take out available.

Karaoke continues this Saturday evening from 9 pm until 1 am with Johnny Green.

Legion members were out last Sunday to enjoy the The Lorne Scots (1849) Army Cadet Corps Annual Review at Alder Recreation Centre. Best wishes to Master Warrant Officer Diandra Paquette who will be spending three months in Ottawa to participate in the changing of the guard.

In Sports, 28 members participated in our Golf season opener on May 30th and four-two man teams qualified to go on to the District Tournament in July. Do you enjoy card games? Branch 233 now has Euchre every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm. $10. to play and all monies go back into cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Our bi-weekly Euchre is this Sunday, June 6th. Doors open at 12 noon. Game starts at 1 pm sharp. Cost is $10. All monies go back into cash prizes.

The Finance Committee will be reviewing Legion Bursary Applications in early July. Students enrolled in a college or university for September and have a relative who is or has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion are welcome to apply. Applications can be obtained from O.D.S.S. or Westside Secondary, as well as Branch 233.

Tickets are on sale for our 75th Anniversary Celebration on September 11th at $25. each. Our Anniversary Committee are planning an awesome dinner menu for this milestone event along with an awesome Guest Speaker so get your tickets early.
