I am a member of a social networking site called ClausNet, in which Tony is also. We all “heard” about the terrible loss to his remaining reindeer - his children - and are all saddened by it.

I don’t know how the community up in this particular area of Canada feel about it, but I wish that there was a way for the community to come together in some fashion to support him. The man is crushed. I know that he has other animals on his property that are fortunate to have him. But I hope that this loss doesn’t finish everything else off.

I do not know his financial situation other than he is of very modest means, and this is a great loss of income, outside of the emotional loss of the animals. I know that time are tough everywhere, but sometimes, a town or city needs to come together to help one of their own. Especially, one that has given a lot to his town.

I am one of the friends from across North America that he mentions near the closing of his letter. If there is some sort of fund or something that you may get going, I would like to be able to donate to it, even though I myself, am not in an overwhelmingly great financial state myself.
