Published statements out of context, misleading
In the interview done with me on Monday, July 26 by Dan Pelton which was published on the July 29 issue, I found number of statements to be out of context and misrepresenting what I have said.
This may have accrued because of the hasty nature which the interview was done, and the fact that the reporter did not record what I said, but rather took only brief notes.
First of all, I was the host of the event, not the speaker, and I am an Orangeville resident, not a visitor to Dufferin County as was suggested. In terms of the issue of the peace in the Middle East, I believe that the reporter didn’t convey my point of view, but rather has edited it to the point that the meaning was lost.
In brief, what I was saying was that I believe that the only way for peace in the Middle East is through faith in the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. While Politicians have tried bring peace to the Middle East for many years unsuccessfully, former Muslims and former Jews who now believe in Jesus Christ are an example for love and peaceful coexistence.
Another very important correction that needs to be made is that I did not say that “Christianity is not the only answer spiritually,” because I do believe that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way for salvation.
I do not appreciate the suggestion that I said otherwise, especially when I have endured three attempts on my life because of my faith and conversion to Christianity, and did not waive because I am sure of the salvation that I have through Jesus Christ.
On another note, I understand the argument that can be made in terms of some of the very horrible things that were committed by some so-called “Christians”. However, I want to clarify that not every “Christian” is a true follower of Christ.
Thanks and blessings, Rev. Mohamed Mohamed
