Our Ways & Means Committee are organizing a Turkey Roll for Saturday, October 2nd at 1 pm. Sign-up sheets available at the bar.

On the Sports front we have Saturday Darts starting on October 16th. Come in and sign up. Everyone welcome. Just a reminder of our weekly Wednesday Night Euchre at 7:30 pm. $10. to play and all monies go back into cash prizes. The next Sunday Euchre is September 12th. Doors open at 12 noon and games start at 1 pm sharp. $10. to play and cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners.

Johnny Greene will be hosting this Saturday’s Karaoke from 9 pm until 1. We are pleased to announce that Sean Lundy is coming back to host Saturday Karaoke and will alternate with entertainers Jill Phillips and Johnny Greene.

We have a a bus going to the Canadian International Air Show on Sunday, September 5th where we will watch this spectacle from the deck of the Queen’s Own Rifles Branch on Lakeshore Road in Toronto. Cost is $15.00

Deadline for tickets for our 75th Anniversary Dinner/Dance on September 11th is August 30th. The cost is $25.00 a person and tickets can be purchased at the bar or phone and reserve.

Our next Wing Night is September 3rd starting at 5 p.m. Tell your friends and neighbours only $5.00 for a pound of wings or check out the deal. Why cook Friday dinner when volunteers will do it for you. Wing nights are complimented with entertainment. Wing nights every 2nd Friday, with the next being September 17th.

Legion Breakfast Sunday September 5th which includes a full breakfast starting at 8 a.m. until noon. Bring your family and let volunteers prepare your breakfast. Vendors are also in the back hall so after or before breakfast you can check out what is for sale.

BINGO continues every Monday night, doors open at 6:30 p.m. with early bird play at 7:15 p.m. Last Monday a bingo player won the lucky number draw which grows until won. The jackpot continues to grow. Bingo continues at the Shelburne Legion. Also, every Monday at 2 p.m. register for euchre and play at 2:30 p.m.

Yes this is Labour Day weekend however Bingo and euchre continue, every Monday.

Upcoming Legion golf tournament at Dunadel Golf Course on September 12th, Best Ball Tournament, tee off time is 9 a.m. Golf and dinner $35.00, dinner only $10.00. Stop in and sign up for this great event.

Veterans continue to meet every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for coffee, goodies and conversation. We have some veterans attending Cambridge on September 11th and they will take part in the parade which is commemorating the Battle of Britain.

Darts commence on September 8th at 8:00 p.m. Stop in and cheer on the players, or perhaps be a spare, or maybe you can still sign up. Lots of fun and comradeship. Ladies Auxiliary meetings resume the 2nd Tuesday each month and the Branch meetings on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Come out and support your Branch.
