Christian Perspectives

Choose to trust more in Him
Pastor Carol McLean

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you.” Isaiah 60:1-2

Have you often wondered why the days have become so dark when so many people are acknowledging their belief in God when asked? It amazes me how society portrays the existence of God and the existence of evil. More people believe in the presence and power of demons or dark angels and get intrigued by them than in the power and presence of Jesus Christ Almighty God. God wants to continually reveal Himself by demonstrating His love and manifesting His light and presence through us His children. God wants people to receive His peace and love and to have hope in these days that are dark.

God speaks through His people in order to reveal His love and truth. He is the righteous loving Heavenly Father who desires that people come to Him. God has not changed and has not changed His mind concerning His plans for us. He really cares for us and is waiting for us to cry out to Him, to call on His name, to seek Him, to ask for His help, His discernment, His wisdom, and His intervention for our households to be saved. Jesus Christ is our salvation. He is our answer to all our needs. Yes, we are living in troublesome days, when crime is increasing and there is so much uncertainty. All of creation is travailing. Iniquity is increasing and there are judgments from God. But God is in control and moving powerfully. He is pouring out His Holy Spirit upon us.

Many circumstances that you are facing in your life are not conducive to peace, but as Christians you can walk in the light of His presence because His presence shines in darkness. No matter how dark it is around you the Prince of Peace rules in you, child of God. You have been blessed with an anointing for taking the peace of the Lord Jesus Christ to those who do not have it. Let it flow out of your life. Walk in this peace and the peace will increase around you. His peace will cause the turmoil that others are carrying to cease. As a child

of God may you enjoy coming into fellowship with others of like mind so that our peace of Christ can touch our community of faith. As Isaiah 26:3-4 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord, is the Rock eternal.”

It is sad that some people don’t believe what I have just said. God is challenging us to change the way we think and see things His way.

It is time for us to declare His hope and future for our community and for us to demonstrate by our lifestyle that we do believe in the resurrection life and power of Jesus, so that the spirit of fear that is tormenting people today will be bound in the name of Jesus Christ and people will be overcome by the perfect love of God that casts out all fear. We must believe that God will vindicate us and the wicked will be judged.

“Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.

Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Peter 1:2-8

So choose to trust more

Jesus Christ and continue

walk in His straight and narrow path that gives abundant life. Do not be discouraged with all the darkness and shakings, but remain faithful in His Kingdom that cannot be shaken. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and let the light of God’s voice shine through. That great light that shines out of us will bless others and they will see the light and want to come out of darkness.
