If anyone would like tickets for our September 11th Anniversary Dinner/ Dance, we still have a few left. Cost is $25.00 each and tickets can be purchased at the Legion or call 519-942-2077 and reserve.

We have a Meat Roll happening on Saturday, October 2nd at 1:00 p.m. Sign-up sheets available at the bar.

The Saturday Dart League is starting on October 16th. Come in and sign up. Everyone welcome. Our weekly Wednesday Night Euchre at 7:30 pm is going well. $10. to play and all monies go back into cash prizes.

The next Sunday Euchre is September 12th. Doors open at 12 noon and games start at 1 pm sharp. $10. to play and cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners.

We are holding a Church Parade on Sunday, September 19th in honour of Legion Week (September 19th-25th) and will be attending the 10:30 am service at Tweedsmuir Presbyterian Church. Form-up at Legion at 9:45 am and march-off at 10.

It seems summer has gone south since the temperature is changing. The potatoes are dug and the tomatoes are still growing. With that in mind since the plants are looking after themselves we look to entertainment since the nights are getting cooler. Why not check out the Bingo at the Shelburne Legion every Monday night. Doors open at 6:30 and the early bird commences at 7:15 p.m. Bring your neighbours and friends along.

Euchre on Monday afternoon, register at 2 and play commences at 2:30 p.m. sharp. Better still how about Euchre in the afternoon and return for Bingo the same night. Every Monday, rain or shine, holiday or not, we have Bingo and Euchre. Volunteers welcome to assist with Bingo and other functions going on at the Legion. Training is provided is needed.

Our Early Bird membership drive is underway. Save money by stopping in and paying your dues early. Darts begin Wednesday, September 15th at 8 p.m. If you are a dart player did you get registered yet? Might not be too late! Spares are always welcome.

Legion Week commences Sunday, September 19th and we will be having Open House all week. Special events are planned which include a Roast Beef Dinner on Friday, September 24th starting at 6 p.m. Veterans will be on hand around the Branch and why not check out the Great window display which is prepared by one of our Veterans. Thanks Merv, well done.

Veterans continue to get together every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for coffee, goodies and comradeship. If you are a Veteran, or a widow of a Veteran you are more than welcome. Stories are shared along with problems.

Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for providing the refreshments every Wednesday. Another quick thank you to the Orangeville Legion since they provided a bus for Warriors Day and the Air Show, we had some Veterans from Shelburne who were able to attend. Thanks Tom & Mary for assisting.

Summation includes Bingo every Monday night, euchre every Monday afternoon, karaoke Friday, September 10. Wing nights every second Friday, next one being September 17th, roast beef dinner on the 24th of September. Comradeship is ongoing at the Legion so stop in and check out our renovated hall and the friendship. Meetings resume also so come out and support your executive. Your input is important.
